On December 29, 2021, amendments to the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation" came into force. The new provisions stipulate that foreign citizens who arrive in Russia for a period of more than 90 days, including for the purpose of education, must undergo medical examinations, fingerprint registration, and photography.
The following individuals are exempt from this procedure:
- citizens of the Republic of Belarus;
- family members of officials of international organizations, as well as employees of diplomatic and consular institutions in Russia;
- foreign citizens with dual citizenship, one of which is Russian citizenship;
- foreign citizens who hold a temporary or permanent residence permit (RVP, VNZ).
The procedure is strictly consistent.:
- Passing the medical examination procedure.
- Passing the fingerprint registration and photographing procedure.
Foreign students can undergo a medical examination at a medical facility authorized to perform this procedure.
