Abstract
The article is devoted to the philosophical analysis of the nature and essence of the phenomenon of aggressiveness and the justification of the paradigm of its prevention in modern society. The authors note that at present the understanding of the problem of aggression is very multifaceted and multidimensional, and therefore it is necessary to approach its solution systematically, relying on approaches offered by such sciences as philosophy, psychology, sociology, political science, law, biology, anthropology, etc. As a result of the study, the authors came to the conclusion that aggression should be considered as a characteristic feature of human behavior in general and as an important aspect of their generic nature. Aggression is based on a peculiar combination of biological and social factors. Aggression is traditionally associated with cruelty, violence, wars and, at the same time, is one of the important factors of the development of society and progress. Destructive aggression has always been associated with such a philosophical and ethical concept as evil. Only defensive aggression is biologically programmed in humans. The most extreme manifestation of cruelty – destructiveness – is a social product. In cases where aggression is not innate, it can be prevented and eradicated. The proposed Z. Freud’s explanation of aggressive behavior solely by the principle of its instinctive determination, in our opinion, is imperfect. This approach does not take into account all possible biological and social factors that can affect the nature of human behavior.
