On May 8, the volunteer center of MSHEU “Volunteer” organized the action “Hero Boulevard”.
Activists distributed booklets to citizens with the biography and history of the feat of the Soviet military commander and twice Hero of the Soviet Union Konstantin Konstantinovich Rokossovsky, whose name our boulevard and metro station are named after.
The troops under the command of Rokossovsky successfully counterattacked the Fascists in the Battle of Moscow, brilliantly conducted the Battle of Stalingrad and defeated the enemy in the Battle of Kursk. The military commander himself considered Operation Bagration to be his main victory for the liberation of Belarus from the Fascist invaders in 1944. Marshal Rokossovsky commanded the Victory Parade in Moscow on June 24, 1945. Rokossovsky Boulevard got its name in 1969. Initially, the station “Rokossovsky Boulevard” was called “Podbelsky Street”, but in 2014 it received a new name.
The electronic version of the booklet can be found in the attached file.
