On April19, in the assembly hall of the Moscow State Humanitarian and Economic University, a lesson was held on the reconstruction of historical facts “Without a statute of Limitations” as part of the Day of Unified Actions in Memory of the Genocide of the Soviet People by the Nazis and their Accomplices during the Great Patriotic War.
The large-scale event was attended by university teachers and students of 1-3 courses. In his introductory speech, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Media Communications Dmitry Vyacheslavovich Bosov outlined the importance of the topic of the genocide of Soviet citizens in the framework of falsification of historical knowledge, which is used as a weapon in the modern information war against Russia. “The tasks of preserving historical justice in relation to the killings of Soviet civilians and captured Red Army soldiers by the Nazi invaders are particularly acute against the background of the policy pursued by the countries of the Western world,” Dmitry Vyacheslavovich noted.
Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Media Communications Lyudmila Borisovna Kulemina outlined the lesson program and presented the main speakers. Students of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Sociology and Journalism demonstrated the results of research on the search for archival sources in different regions. The study resulted in new facts of the genocide of the civilian population by the German authorities during the occupation. Students also conducted an analysis of the literary heritage under the guidance of teachers. They studied hundreds of Russian songs about the trials faced by the inhabitants of the USSR at the beginning of the war, and then compared the data obtained with how overcoming these difficulties was reflected in literary works.
1st-year students Angelina Milovanova, Yana Deryugina, Polina Omelchenko, Valeria Melnikova and Tatiana Koscheeva told the audience about the heroic siege of Leningrad, especially focusing on the vicissitudes of life of Leningrad residents. 1st year students Karina Chernysheva and Eleonora Melnichuk highlighted the difficulties of civilian life under German occupation in the Chernozem region – in the Voronezh and Oryol regions. 1st year student Diana Yandashevskaya introduced the participants of the lesson to the facts of the genocide of Soviet citizens in the Volgograd region, in Vitebsk, Bryansk and Rostov-on-Don. 1st year student Ksenia Kasyanchik dedicated a message to the movie “Brest Fortress” (2010, directed by A. Kott), revealing the essence of the heroic feat of the defenders of the fortress. Students Sofya Nibabina and Anton Galbatsov revealed the history of the creation of songs of the war years and the bitter truth mixed with hope, which is presented in them. The bright performance of the 1st year student Mstislav Skirnevsky, who immersed the hall in archival sources and memories of those who survived the difficult war years, did not leave anyone indifferent. 1st year student Arseny Amelin introduced the audience to various monuments to the heroes and heroic events of the Great Patriotic War.
After watching the film “No Statute of Limitations”, which introduced the audience to the concepts of genocide, fascism and Nazism, and also revealed the essence of Hitler’s plans for the USSR, a minute of silence was held.
