On May 24, a literary lounge dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rasul Gamzatov, an outstanding Soviet poet, novelist, publicist, public figure, whose pen owns dozens of books in Russian and Avar languages, was held in the reading room of the Moscow State University of Economics. Taking into account the significant contribution of R. G. Gamzatov to the national culture, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the poet’s birth.
Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Media Communications Irina Sergeevna Nazmetdinova together with 1st year students of the Faculty of Sociology and Journalism and members of the literary club “Alliance” organized a literary event at which the lines of Rasul Gamzatov’s works were performed.
Anton Galbatsov and Sofia Nibabina told about the life and fate of Rasul Gamzatov. Polina Bedareva, Ksenia Zolozhkova, Ekaterina Luschik, and Ksenia Volkova delivered the message “I sing my song” dedicated to the artistic world of Gamzatov and the thematic areas of his poetry. Yulia Orlova, accompanying herself on the guitar, soulfully performed the legendary song “Cranes” (“It seems to me sometimes that soldiers …”). Diana Yandashevskaya, Ksenia Kasyanchik, Timur Abubakirov told about the history of this amazing text.
The guests of the meeting took part in a master class, where they made paper cranes and created an improvised memory stele.
The head of the library of MSHEU Valentina Aleksandrovna Akhtyrskaya and Associate Professor Irina Sergeevna Nazmetdinova performed in the final. “The connection of times continues, our task is to preserve the history of the country and pass it on to future generations,” Irina Sergeevna said.
