On November 14, senior university students participated in the career fair organized by the Moscow Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. This fair, aimed at helping unemployed people with disabilities to be placed in jobs, was held in the Council Hall of Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
The career fair gives a unique opportunity to meet future employers and evaluate one’s chances to get a job in one of the most prestigious companies of the capital city. This event attracted over 50 potential employers who were focused on hiring people with disabilities. Among them there were representatives of companies that belong to the country’s top 200: AO ‘Raiffeisenbank’, MegaFon, Sheremetyevo International Airport, Retail chain ‘Lenta’, etc. The venue was also visited by a number of staffing companies and academic institutions. Russian Honorable Artist and member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Diana Gurtskaya performed in front of the attendees and stated that people with disabilities are not alone in their career struggle and a huge number of organizations and activists are willing to help them in their job search.
During this event the students could learn more about the openings offered by the companies, have an initial interview, discuss specialized labor practices, attend workshop sessions and practical courses on such grounds as “Lifehacks for a job interview”, “A perfect CV”, “Turning cons into pros”, and participate in the forum “You are not alone!”. Every student could also take a career guidance test and get an individual consultation.
MGGEU received the certificate of participation in the career fair for people with disabilities.
